The annual Busy Bee Quilt Show will be held Friday, September 26, 2008- Saturday, September 27, 2008 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day at the Post Oak Community Center Schmittou Rd off FM 2127 between Hwy 59 & 148. There will be quilts on display, craft items, door prizes, trash & treasure and a local vendor. Sandwiches or beans and cornbread will be served from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. A donation quilt will be given away at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 27th. There is a $3 admission fee. The annual Miss Jack County Pageant will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Jacksboro High School auditorium. Contestants should submit their entry fee of $30 and entry forms no later than Thursday September 18, 2008.The theme this year is the 50's. Entry forms are available in the chamber office located in the city hall building. The JHS Homecoming will be Friday, October 17,2008. The Homecoming parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. on the courthouse square, followed by the coronation at 1:30 p.m. at Jacksboro High School and the pep rally at 2:30 p.m. The Pre-game festivities will begin at 7 p.m. at the JHS football field. The annual Christmas Festival will be Thursday, December 11, 2008 beginning at 5 p.m. on the square. From 5-6p.m. there will be music on the square, at 6 p.m. the lighted Christmas parade will begin followed by a visit from Mr. & Mrs Claus on the courthouse steps. Businesses will be encouraged to remain open for the evening festivities and if you would like to enter a lighted float or bring a group to join in the parade please contact Lynn Casteel 940-567-5461 or the chamber office 940-567-2602 for an entry form.
