The Guys and Gals Car Show will begin the season on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 5:30 on the north side of the courthouse square. The scenic ride will leave from the fort and cover about 100 miles of beautiful wildflower-covered back roads around the Jack County area. It ends back at the fort with a Fajita Feast lunch, sponsored by the Friends of Fort Richardson. Ride 10 a.m., lunch noon-1 p.m.; entrance fees waived for participants, lunch $3 per person for all you can eat; reservations required for lunch, deadline May 15, 2009 (940) 567-3506.

The Annual Tractor Show will be Saturday, May 23rd at Fort Richardson State Park. Tractors start rolling in around 8 a.m. Saturday Morning and the show will begin at 10 a.m. Events include:campsite parade, barrel roll, starting contest, slow race, washer drop and a can crush contest. All participants will have their entrance fees waived upon arrival to the park. Overnight camping is available for both Friday and Saturday nights with water and electricity at all sites. A select number of our sites do have sewer hook ups. Please call 1-512-389-8900 to make your camping reservations early. There will be a lunch available around noon to all of those who RSVP.
